Mr. Alfred “Al” Edwards has over 45 years of experience in government contracting with federal civilian and defense agencies, and more recently, with state and local governments. Mr. Edwards served as Vice President of Operations for two mid-sized consulting firms and held numerous senior-level positions for other major corporations, prior to starting Exceed Corporation in 1998, where he is currently serving as Chairman and CEO. EXCEED is a thriving organization that provides management, technical, and analytical solutions to its government clients.
With EXCEED being headquartered in Prince George’s County, Maryland, Mr. Edwards currently serves as an Advisory Board Member of the Prince George’s Community College’s Center for Entrepreneurial Development Joint Industry Advisory Board and the Financial Capacity Building Program – Virtual CFO Program Advisory Board. The Virtual CFO program guides local, small, and minority enterprises through the proper steps to become successful.
To add to his achievements in government contracting, Mr. Edwards has also owned and operated a gourmet restaurant and retail business in Washington, DC for seven years; was co-founder and limited partner of a tristate computer-leasing corporation for five years, and co-authored “The Minority Career Guide,” a Peterson’s Publications book designed to instruct minorities on how to enter and advance in corporate America.
Mr. Edwards, a native Washingtonian, has a B.A. in Business Administration, with a minor in Economics, from Howard University.
